Adventures of a returned traveller

A Camping we will go

One of the activities I missed most in Ukraine was camping. So my friend Pam and I took two trips this fall. One turned out to be a very short one, but the other was a five-day delight in the St. Joseph Forest. These pictures are about that day. Some of the explanations may seem obvious to my American friends, but I am posting these pictures and text mainly for my Ukrainian friends understanding.  Of course those of you Americans who have never been camping or never been to Idaho should enjoy them, too.
Our first trip to Warm Lake involved taking the dogs. Here Pam and her dog Buddy get ready to load up.

My dog Ben can hardly wait whereas Buddy being more experienced just lies down and enjoys the ride.

First Pam looks over everything on the tent trailer. She bought this trailer on Ebay the summer before I left for Ukraine. We spent a wonderful week in Glacier Park in it that summer. The large marine battery runs the trailer lights.

Pam checks the propane tank that runs the heater and the refrigerator.

Then she miraculously backs her SUV just right to connect the trailer to the hitch. We plug in the trailer lights and brakes into the car; lift the leg stands and we are ready.

Pam's little Suzuki does a great job of pulling the trailer.

Our first stop is to fill the water reservoir of the trailer. We use the water for washing dishes and ourselves.
