Adventures of a returned traveller

St. Joseph River and Forest

The St. Joe was a famous logging river in Idaho's history. Now it is famous for fishing. There were fisherman all up and down the very long river as bull trout season was open--catch and release.

We stopped for lunch at a boat launching area outside of St. Marie's.

Many of the peaks are 7000-8000 ft high.

Magnificent views of the river abound.

Not too far from our campground near the beginning of the St. Joe was a great general store that also had showers and a Laundromat.  On our third day we used those showers!

Each campsite provided privacy and plenty of room. Besides a pad for the trailer there was a table, barbeque grill, fire pit and bench.  The chair is Pam's.

After expanding and setting up the trailer, Pam cooked our first dinner of salmon!

It stayed pretty warm while we were camping and we only lit the fire pit one night. Had chocolate and lemon celliano. Hmm  hmmm. wonderful night. Nothing like the stars in the mountains.
