Adventures of a returned traveller

Fall in the Boise National Forest

On my birthday this year I continued a tradition begun by my husband Russ when we lived in Colorado--to tour the fall foilage in the mountains. Coming out of Boise Ben (my dog) and I followed the Boise River towards Idaho City. We stopped here so I could do my Tai Chi for the day. What a beautiful place to get centered.

Idaho City, a historic mining and logging town, was the first capital of Idaho. I love coming here and roaming the sites, but today, I just sat on the porch of Shady Lady, drank a lattee and wrote in my journal. The skies in Idaho are so blue!

This is a shot from the top of the pass (6,100 ft) and looking back down into the Boise Valley.

This is looking the other way from the past towards the Sawtooth Range.

Ben and I stopped for lunch at Whoop-Em-Up equestrian campground and nordic ski trail. Put Ben's lunch on this rock.

Oooops!  Some rolled off. Ben never misses a bite.

Recylcling is very big in Idaho. Here in the campground one can separate everything,

My photography doesn't do justice to the color of these birches.
