Adventures of a returned traveller

Home Along the Payette River

Before we leave Ben grabs a drink at the creek where riders take their horses.

My trip is to the outhouse--always immaculate, always paper and never any smell!

These grounds are so nice--two tables, a fire pit and in the background, a manger for the horses.

I have come down the pass and picked up the Payette River outside of Garden Valley. This river is one of the most popular rivers in our area for kayaking and rafting.

Although the river is low at this time of year, one can still see some pretty good rapids.

These granite peaks mark my turn back to the city of Boise.

The Payette widens and slows somewhat as it approaches Horseshoe Bend. For years loggers floated thousands of logs down the Payette to the mills at Horseshoe Bend.

Beauty, my cat, spent her 19th birthday, in the sun, in the garden and wonders where the hell I have been!

I have been on a journey Beauty--and after 65 years, it only gets better.
