Musings of an Ukraine Traveler

Off to work and the usual stops

I love walking to work across the plaza. Now of course there is snow and the main difference would be  that I would be wearing a scarf and maybe my boots.

Zhanna, my counterpart and I were cracking up at this pose. If I am teaching a class at one of the schools. Our office is small, but we have a copier, computer and fax machine. We don't have files, bookcases or display boards so we put everything on the wall.

Part of my job--really most of it--is raising awareness about dangers and effects of pollution in our town in the schools. These 8th form girls really aren't afraid of me. They are taking very seriously what I say. Usually they are all smiles.

Waiting to pay my internet and or phone bill is often part of my daily routine. If not here, it's a line at the bank to get my living allowance or at the post office to pick up a package or buy an envelope and stamp!

I do some kind of shopping nearly every day. I might go to bazaar before work. After work, I sometimes go to a "magazine" to pick up milk or bread. Here I have stopped at my favorite stationery/office supply  store to pick up some markers and some paper.
