Dear Penny,
I hope you had a wonderful holiday and are not missing St. Lucia too
much. I am finally getting around to thanking you for your help on our
St. Thomas trip and to update you on how it went. In a nutshell,
everything was amazing!
Secret Harbor was really a special spot and couldn't have worked out
better. It may not be the thing for people who are used to more
amenities and who want things on a bigger scale (ie bigger beach or
more restaurant choices), but for us it was perfect. The snorkeling
was the best we found anywhere, the beach itself was well-maintained
and cozy, and the waves were very gentle, which was ideal for the 3
small children in our group. While there was only the 1 restaurant
(Blue Moon Café), the food was excellent and the town of Redhook is
only a mile away with a # of options. Most important for us (again
given the children on the trip) was the fact that each suite had a
full kitchen and living room, which made things so much easier for us.
The suites themselves were outstanding, very well-maintained and
roomy. Even my mom's (a studio only) and my sister's (a huge 2-
bedroom condo, which I'm not sure how you got for her price but am
glad you did) were perfect. My mom, by the way, was able to change her
flight and the resort let her stay in my sister's 2nd bedroom for no
extra charge! The staff was very friendly and accommodating, which as
you know can sometimes be rare in the Caribbean. Overall, the place
was very quiet and laid back, had a great location in terms of being
out of the way on an otherwise bustling island, yet near the ferry for
quick trips to St. John or where ever. We definitely plan a return
trip! Thanks again for all your help and we hope that you have a great
